• Kintsugi is the Japanese art of mending broken pottery with lacquer made of precious metals. The repaired pottery is valued more highly than it was in its original unbroken state. The imperfections of the repaired pottery are illuminated and embraced as essential parts of the pottery's personal history.

Psychotherapist

Austin, Texas | San Antonio, Texas

The way I practice therapy is informed by buddhist philosophy, as well as my training in DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), IFS (Internal Family Systems Therapy), CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy), and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). I primarily treat adult clients with conditions such as depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, psychosis, trauma, and attachment wounding. My approach to therapy is friendly, warm, and always affirming. I am a member of both LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities, and I strive to provide a safe place for all my clients. I specialize in treating clients with intersectional identities, specifically: nonbinary/LGBTQIA, neurodivergent, chronically ill, and BIPOC-identifying.

I use the image of kintsugi pottery above to represent the client's therapeutic process—the client enters therapy with perceived "flaws," but through the course of therapy discovers self-acceptance and healing that make the client stronger than before.
